4. Data Storage and Processing

Local Storage: Most of your running data is stored locally on your device for privacy and performance.

Cloud Processing: We use AI services (such as OpenAI) to generate coaching feedback. Your performance data is transmitted to these services for personalized coaching generation but is not permanently stored by them.

Audio Generation: Voice coaching is generated via text-to-speech services. Audio is streamed in real-time and is not permanently stored.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With third-party AI services (OpenAI) and text-to-speech providers necessary to deliver App functionality
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

6. Health Data and Apple Health/Google Fit Integration

If you connect PacePal with Apple Health or Google Fit, we access only the data you explicitly authorize (e.g., heart rate, steps). This data enhances your running experience and is not shared with third parties except as necessary to deliver coaching services.

7. Location Data

We collect GPS location data during your runs to calculate distance and pace. This data is processed locally on your device and used only for the duration of your run session. Location data may be stored locally for your running history.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We prioritize local data storage to minimize security risks.

9. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access: You can view your running data within the App
  • Deletion: You can delete your running history and account data at any time
  • Opt-Out: You can disconnect health app integrations at any time
  • Location Services: You can disable location permissions, though this will affect core App functionality

10. Children's Privacy

PacePal is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

11. International Users

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information.
